Mr Keane, 68, a smoker of 40 years, in bed 9, had a chest X-ray and CT for a cough with blood-streaked sputum. He is for a bronchoscopy in the morning.
The student asks: "Why a bronchoscopy after the CT, and what do I tell him about the test?"
